| Important: All Architectural Record articles and presentation courses may count towards the AIA continuing education requirement. All active registered architect AIA members may complete their annually required Continuing Education Credits through Architectural Record. This includes all 18 learning unit (LU) hours each year, with at least 8 of the 18 LU hours relating to health, safety, and/or welfare (HSW). Of the 8 HSW, at least 4 credits must be in sustainable design (SD) topics. |
Check for your state’s requirements.
Depending on when you take a course online in Architectural Record's Continuing Education Center, it can take between 1 to 2 weeks for your credits to appear on your AIA member transcript. For example, if you take a course on a Monday, your credits will appear on your transcript by Thursday of the following week. Please check your transcript regularly for updates. If you have any questions about the credit reporting process, contact Marissa Wyss, 212-904-2838.
In compliance with AIA Continuing Education guidelines
Certificates of completion: To comply with state licensing mandatory continuing education issues, we have established a system to provide certificates of completion to participants who request this documentation on their reporting form. A passing score of 80% on the test answers is required for successful completion.
AIA/CES-approved magazine articles and sections that are more than two years old can only be self-reported as part of a self-designed research project, not for HSW credit. Contact the AIA records office in Oklahoma for self-reporting: 800-605-8229. Articles and sections published within two years of this issue must use the AIA/CES Reporting Form in those issues and/or follow the instructions on the Web site.
